Safety Tips Every Horse Night Rider Should Know.

If you ride after work or school, you're probably doing it in the dark. Whether you're a seasoned night rider or just getting started, here are some pointers to keep you and your horse safe. 1. Wear fluorescent gears. If you'll be riding near other cars, you'll need to wear fluorescent clothing. Consider purchasing a reflective vest, jacket, gloves or a helmet band. Reflective equipment such as our reflective equine collar might also be used to dress up your horse. 2. Taking a ride with a pal is a good idea. Riding in groups is always a good idea. Aside from the usual safety issue, sharing the experience is a lot of fun. Having an equestrian companion will also benefit your horse. 3. Choose an appropriate horse. If your horse is apprehensive, night riding may not be an option until you and your horse have established great communication.
